After hearing about ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead from my time on the Los Angeles rock circuit (we were labelmates for a while), I finally checked out the band when it came through town this week. On bass, Jay Phillips rocked alongside the prog/indie/rock band's two drummers. The crowd was too thick to get up close for a decent photo, so I managed to snap this one from the back balcony at Slim's in San Francisco. Can't say the band did it for me live—coming at the end of a long tour leg, maybe they were a little 'over it.' Still, if hard-rocking shoegaze is your bag, you'll no doubt love these guys.
